Construction Diploma (Level 1) WOOD OCCUPATIONS
This course is an introduction for anyone who is interested in becoming a carpenter. You will gain
experience in specifi c wood occupation tasks such as using tools, equipment and materials and
become familiar with associated construction trades.
Specific Entry Requirements: You should be educated to GCSE level and have achieved the BPEC
entry exam. Successful completion of a Construction link programme will be considered.
Additional Expenses: £85 fee to cover safety equipment and materials.
Progression: From Level 1 you can progress on to the Level 2 Construction Diploma or an
Apprenticeship within Wood Occupations, subject to entry requirements.
Construction Diploma (Level 2) WOOD OCCUPATIONS
This course is designed for those who want to work as a site carpenter. You will follow the
Apprenticeship framework where you learn technical skills in College and return to your employer to
demonstrate practical competence. Tasks will cover; Setting-Out Details; Storing Materials; Carpentry
First & Second Fix; Health & Safety. Your framework would consist of the Construction Diploma Level 2
and Level 2 NVQ (Key Skills may be applicable).
Specific Entry Requirements: GCSE Grade A*-D in Maths and English, plus employment within the
construction industry.
Additional Expenses: £85 fee to cover safety equipment and materials.
Progression: You can work in the construction industry as a qualifi ed carpenter or progress to a Level
3 qualifi cation within construction trades.
City & Guilds 2251 (Level 2) PEO ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION
This course offers an introduction to Electrical Installation within a simulated workshop environment. It
will cover a wide variety of installation tasks, such as: PVC and Fireproof Cable; Conduit and Trunking;
Control Systems; Panel Building; Electrical Testing. The course provides a broad taste of installation
work and gives an excellent introduction to students wishing to enter the electrical industry.
Specific Entry Requirements: GCSEs Grades A* - D in
English and Maths and achievement of the BPEC
entry exam.
Additional Expenses: £85 fee to cover
safety equipment and materials.
Progression: You can progress to an
apprenticeship in Electrical Installation
