Introductory Certifi cate (Level 1) BASIC CONSTRUCTION
This course is a basis for anyone who is interested in working within the construction industry and is
unsure which route they would like to follow. You will gain experience in various trades such as wood
occupations, plumbing, electrical installation, painting & decorating and trowel trades.
Specific Entry Requirements: You should be educated to GCSE level and have achieved the BPEC
entry exam. Successful completion of a Construction link programme will be considered.
Additional Expenses: £85 fee to cover safety equipment and materials.
Progression: Completion of Level 1 can lead to any of the full-time Level 2 courses, or an
Apprenticeship within any trade area, subject to entry requirements.
BTEC First Diploma (Level 2) CONSTRUCTION
The BTEC First Diploma provides a sound background
to the world of the construction industry. The course
aims to provide you with a good understanding of
the many trades associated with construction and
allows you to gain experience in various areas,
including wood occupations, plumbing and
electrical installation.
Specific Entry Requirements: GCSE
Grades A* - C in English and Maths and
achievement of the BPEC entry exam.
Additional Expenses: £85 fee to cover
safety equipment and materials.
Progression: This course could lead to
an Apprenticeship in wood occupations,
plumbing or electrical installation or Level
3 opportunities within surveying or site
management within the construction industry.
