BTEC Introductory Diploma (Level 1) HEALTH AND SOCIAL CARE
This one-year course covers aspects of care across all age ranges and client groups. The course
combines practical work with classroom study. The units to be taught include working and developing
skills for working in health and social care.
Specific Entry Requirements: A keen interest in working with children and a range of GCSEs Grades
D-G, including English Language.
Additional Expenses: CRB check £37. Yeovil College polo shirt £12. There will be trips that will need
to be subsidised.
Progression: Students who successfully complete the course may progress to other courses such
as the Level 2 BTEC Health & Social Care, Cache Diploma Level 2 Childcare & Education, or an
Apprenticeship programme.
BTEC First Diploma (Level 2) HEALTH & SOCIAL CARE
This one-year course covers aspects of care across all age ranges and client groups. The course
combines practical work with classroom study. Topics include: Rights and Needs of Individuals; Creative
and Therapeutic Activities; Cultural Diversity; Diet and Health.
Specific Entry Requirements: A minimum of two GCSEs at Grade A* - C, one of which should be
English.
Additional Expenses: CRB check £37. Yeovil College polo shirt £12. There may be trips that need
subsidising should you choose to attend.
Progression: Students who successfully complete the course may progress on to the Advanced GCE
in Health and Social Care or A Levels.
