BTEC National Diploma (Level 3) MEDIA - MOVING IMAGE

If you're interested in a career in television or fi lm, this course is essential. You will study topics includ-
ing live broadcasting, fi lm, video and marketing and use high-quality digital camcorders and industry-
standard editing software to produce to professional standards. You will be introduced to a wide range
of media skills through assignments such as the Xmas Factor, Magazine Show, Documentary and
Outside Broadcasts.

Specific Entry Requirements: Standard entry requirements as well as an active interest in media.

Additional Expenses: £50 at the start of each year for materials, your own hard-drive for production
back-up reasons. Expenses for trips and residentials.

Residentials: A trip to the BBC in London for a backstage tour, and an opportunity to attend a one-
week residential in New York.

Progression: You could get a job within the industry, or progress onto a university-level course. You
could also go into industry-training in the following areas: TV, video, print and broadcast journalism, fi lm-
making and marketing.
