Welcome to our new Full-time Prospectus, for 2009/10

Yeovil College has an exciting and friendly campus, where you will
meet new friends and learn the skills you need for a great job, great
future and a great start.

Learning is our passion and we are extremely proud of our students
and their achievements. We have had yet another successful year
with our students gaining an overall pass rate of 99.7% for A Levels
and an outstanding 100% pass rate in 28 subjects, including Physics,
Computing, Health and Social Care and Business Studies. Our
students also achieved a fantastic 100% pass rate in 15 vocational
subjects ranging from Sport to Graphic Design, Health and Social Care
to Professional Cookery. As a result, more Yeovil College students than ever are
successfully securing places at renowned universities nationwide.

Our students have continued to demonstrate their skills and abilities at various events
throughout the year, as well as involving themselves in many successful community and
charity projects. 2008 has already seen a spectacular fashion and art show draw crowds
from all over the county to admire the creativity of our Art and Design, Performing Arts and
Hair and Beauty students, and a number of our sports students have played at the highest
levels, both nationally and internationally. A band of BND Music Practice students even
played at the Glastonbury Festival!

Our aim is to provide learning opportunities to the whole community, with courses offered
from entry level, through to AS/A level, vocational courses and on to Foundation degrees
and Honours degrees at the University Centre Yeovil on Preston Road. Above all, we look
at the bigger picture, encouraging you to consider your progression and what happens next
after your qualification. As such, we have a highly experienced Careers, Information and
Guidance Team available to support students in making the right choices for them.

Our reputation for excellent resources and teaching is also growing. Over the past few
years, we have invested heavily in our resources, providing high quality teaching rooms, with
interactive white boards, up-to-date IT equipment and a superb learning centre, complete
with a virtual library, over 1500 e-books and thousands of e-journals. Last year, the very first
students enjoyed the excellent new learning facilities in our Leonardo Building, a £5.7 million
investment to provide superb Arts, Engineering and Media facilities.

With one of the widest ranges of vocational programmes in the county, we can also give you
the opportunity to use specialist workshops and technical equipment to learn vital skills that
employers demand. Our Centres of Advanced Engineering and Hospitality offer state-of-the-
art specialist equipment to help you to learn high-level, industry-related skills.

We have a personal tutorial system to ensure that you receive all the support and motivation
you need throughout your studies with us. We also encourage you
to tell us about any additional needs, learning difficulties or
disabilities so we can identify positive ways to support you.

With high standards of teaching, student support,
superb links with industry and the local community,
we have everything that will enable you to progress
to the next stage.
